Ballet Music

One of the things I loved the most as a young ballet dancer aged just four, was the beautiful orchestral scores created for our favourite ballets. Who can fail to be enchanted by the likes of Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Delibes.

These beautiful scores were created by the greatest masters in the history of classical music and I’m sure they would be delighted to know that their music is still as popular today, being included on all the streaming and download platforms and receiving daily airplay across the globe – a claim that not many modern day composers will be able to make in 100-200 years time!

There are always definitive versions of each score, depending on the orchestra and conductor. Here we have chosen some of our very favourite versions of each of these magical ballet scores for you to enjoy – either purely for your listening pleasure or to prance around the room to!
